Teeth Whitening
Professional whitening lifts the shade of natural teeth under supervision. We check what is causing the discolouration first, because not all of it responds to bleaching.

What it is
Whitening uses a professional strength gel to lighten the natural tooth. In office treatment is done here in a single appointment, and take home trays are custom made so the gel stays where it should.
Existing crowns, veneers, and fillings do not change shade. If you have restorations at the front of your mouth, we plan the order of treatment around that.
Sensitivity during whitening is common and manageable. We talk through how to reduce it before you start rather than after.
Who it is for
- Your teeth have dulled or yellowed over time.
- You want a lift before an event or a photograph.
- Your gums and teeth are healthy and free of decay.
- You prefer supervised treatment to shop bought kits.
- You are planning cosmetic work and want to set the shade first.
What to expect
Check first
We examine your teeth and gums and identify the cause of the discolouration. Whitening waits until anything active is treated.
Shade record
We record and photograph your starting shade so the change is measured rather than guessed at.
Treatment
Either an in office session or custom trays with gel for home use. We explain the routine and what to avoid.
Review
We look at the result together and discuss whether to top up, stop, or protect the shade going forward.
Questions we hear most
No. Restorations keep their original shade, so we plan around them and sometimes replace them afterwards to match.
Professional whitening used as directed is a supervised treatment on healthy teeth. That supervision is the reason we check before starting.
It varies with diet, habits, and hygiene. Coffee, tea, and red wine all have an effect, and top ups are straightforward when you want one.
Tell us. Sensitivity is common, and there are ways to adjust the routine or the product that usually help.
Talk it through with a dentist before you commit to anything.
Bring your questions to a consultation. We will explain what we see and what the options are, and nothing gets booked until you decide it should.
