Implants and Urgent Care

Same-Day Emergency Care

Pain, swelling, a broken tooth, or a lost restoration does not wait for a convenient appointment. Call early in the day and we will work to see you.

Same-Day Emergency Care at Montville Center for Dentistry

What it is

We hold time in the schedule for urgent problems. That is the whole point of same day care, and it applies to existing patients and to people who have never been here before.

The first job is getting you comfortable and dealing with whatever is causing the problem. Definitive treatment is planned once the pain and swelling are under control.

If you are not sure whether something counts as an emergency, call and describe it. The front desk can tell you quickly whether you should come in today.

Who it is for

  • You have a toothache that is not settling.
  • There is swelling in your face or gum.
  • A tooth has broken or been knocked out.
  • A crown, filling, or denture tooth has come off.
  • You have bleeding or an injury after an accident.
  • You are in pain and are not currently a patient here.

What to expect

  1. Call the office

Describe what happened and when it started. Calling early in the day gives us the most room to fit you in.

  2. Assessment on arrival

We find the source of the problem, take an image if needed, and explain what we are seeing.

  3. Relief first

The immediate priority is getting you out of pain and stabilising the tooth or the area.

  4. Plan the rest

Once you are comfortable, we talk through what the tooth needs longer term and book it properly.

Questions we hear most

Yes. New patients in pain are welcome to call, and we will see you if we can.

Handle it by the crown, not the root, keep it moist, and call us immediately. Time matters with a knocked out tooth.

Facial swelling should always be called in the same day. Tell the front desk that your face is swollen when you ring.

Call the office and follow the instructions on the message, and get in touch first thing when we open.

Talk it through with a dentist before you commit to anything.

Bring your questions to a consultation. We will explain what we see and what the options are, and nothing gets booked until you decide it should.
