Children see the same team in the same rooms as their parents, which takes a lot of the strangeness out of a dental visit. Familiar surroundings make the next appointment easier.
Care covers gentle cleanings, fluoride, and sealants on the grooved biting surfaces where decay tends to start. We also watch how the bite and the adult teeth are developing.
If a child is nervous, we slow down. A first visit can be nothing more than sitting in the chair and counting teeth.

What to expect
Getting comfortable
We explain everything in plain words first. Parents are welcome to stay in the room throughout.
Gentle exam
Teeth, gums, and bite are checked, and we look at how the adult teeth are positioned.
Clean and protect
A gentle cleaning, fluoride where appropriate, and sealants if the back teeth would benefit.
Talk it through
We tell parents what we saw and give practical home care advice that fits the child's age.

Early is better, because the first visits are about getting comfortable. Call the office and we will advise based on your child's age.
