Invisalign Clear Aligners

Clear aligners move teeth gradually using a series of removable trays. Treatment is planned digitally, so you can see the proposed result before you commit to it.

Invisalign Clear Aligners at Montville Center for Dentistry

What it is

Invisalign uses a sequence of clear plastic trays, each shaped slightly differently from the last. Worn in order, they apply gentle pressure that moves teeth into a planned position.

The trays come out for meals and for brushing, which is the practical difference most people notice compared with fixed braces. It also means cleaning your teeth stays straightforward.

Not every case suits aligners. We assess the bite as well as the crowding, and if fixed treatment would give you a better result we will say so.

Who it is for

  • Your teeth are crowded, spaced, or slightly rotated.
  • You would rather not wear fixed braces.
  • You had orthodontic work before and things have shifted.
  • You are willing to wear the trays consistently.
  • You want to see a digital preview before starting.
  • You want straightening and other dental work in one office.

What to expect

  1. Assessment

We examine your bite, take imaging, and decide whether aligners can achieve what you have in mind.

  2. Digital plan

A scan is turned into a simulation of the movement. You see the proposed end position before treatment is ordered.

  3. Wearing the trays

You change trays on a schedule we set together. Small attachments are sometimes bonded to teeth to help specific movements.

  4. Progress reviews

We check the fit and the tracking at intervals. If a tooth is not moving as planned, we adjust rather than push on.

  5. Retention

Once the teeth are where you want them, a retainer keeps them there. Retention is part of the plan, not an afterthought.

Questions we hear most

It depends entirely on what needs to move. We give you an estimate at the planning stage based on your own case, and we update it as we go.

They are clear and thin, so most people find they are discreet. Attachments on the front teeth are tooth coloured.

Call us. Usually you go back to the previous tray while a replacement is arranged, and we tell you exactly what to do.

Yes. Teeth drift over a lifetime whether or not they were ever straightened, and a retainer is what holds the result.

Talk it through with a dentist before you commit to anything.

Bring your questions to a consultation. We will explain what we see and what the options are, and nothing gets booked until you decide it should.
